About Quincy Black, Founder & Principal

At Carbon Sports Management, we believe athletes deserve more than transactional representation. They deserve a partner who knows the game intimately — both on the field and in the boardroom. That vision starts with our founder, Quincy Black.

Quincy’s journey began on Chicago's South Side at Kenwood Academy, with a dream to play professional football. After attending and excelling at both Harper College the University of New Mexico, he was drafted by the Tamp Bay Buccaneers in the 3rd Round and going on to be voted team captain and spending multiple seasons competing at the highest level of the NFL. Those years shaped not only his physical toughness but his understanding of the unique pressures players face — sudden wealth, public scrutiny, short career windows, and critical decisions that impact families for generations.

When his playing career ended, Quincy chose a different but equally demanding path: mastering the business side of sports. Immediately following retirement Quincy began his educational journey completing his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from University of South Florida. He went on earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) in accelerated fashion from one of the most prestigious Law Schools in the country (Northwestern Pritzker School of Law) completing the program in 2 years. Then went on further to achieve a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from perennially the top ranked Georgetown University Law Center, gaining deep expertise in the legal and financial frameworks that determine how athletes build and keep wealth.

Today, Quincy is not only a Member of the Florida Bar but also an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, with additional credentials as a Series 65 Investment Advisor Representative and Florida Insurance Licensee. These qualifications aren’t just letters after a name — they prove his commitment to being the best version of one’s self.
